Beech House Garden :)

We spent a little time in the garden at my house a few weeks ago and everything looks great! The hydrangeas are beautiful and almost fully bloomed!
Slowly getting there...

One of the fully bloomed flowers. I'm thinking about using this color instead of the light pink for the wedding...could save lots of money! Wedding florist AND gardener?? :)
A few more left to bloom, but looking gorgeous!

Yellow and orange Marigolds.

WEDDING!

Well, we officially SET THE DATE! Our wedding will be on June 25, 2011 at Villa Antonia in Austin. I've started planning the big things (invitations, flowers, talking to DJs, etc.), and I'm sure I can be deemed officially crazy. After sitting down to do our wedding budget, I decided that I would be making the things I could do. Interesting...

I will be making our invitations and having bow-tying parties with the girls from work. I will also be doing all our bouquets and reception centerpieces. Ha...I know it will be a big job, but I practiced this weekend (with my mom's help!) and the flowers didn't turn out too bad! It was also pretty fun to play florist! Now I just need to find helpers to set them up on the big day! :)

Here is Villa Antonia!

Here are my tester flowers...they will be much better on the actual day, but I thought these were a pretty good start! We have Hydrangeas, Pink Roses, White Gerbera Daisies, Green Pompons, and Lark Spur...interesting combo, but the colors went well together!

Our Engagement!

We finally got around to getting some pictures loaded on the computer, but there are still more coming that are on the camera. Well...Mark proposed on New Year's Eve and it was so amazing! For those of you who haven't heard the story...

Everything was a secret. He wouldn't tell me anything about the night's events until we reached each destination. The few things I knew were that we were going on a date, I needed to be semi-dressy, and be ready at 5:30. When Mark showed up at my house he had a single long-stemmed rose...gorgeous. Throughout the night we went to many places- our first stop was an ultra-sonic rock concert. Pretty cool and different- they were a 20 person cover band that played classic rock songs. Our second stop was the Dallas Chophouse- this was so neat because it turned out to be their first official night open! We had a 4-course meal and some extra entertainment when a guy next to us strangely offered breath mints to everyone and then ran out on his tab!

Our last stop was at the Dallas Renaissance Hotel in downtown Dallas. He snuck into the room earlier that day and decorated it with roses and petals everywhere- it was gorgeous!

We also had a perfect view of Downtown from our window. We were watching fireworks from the window right at midnight (so romantic!) when Mark reached into the curtain and pulled out a BOX!

He got down on one knee and gave his sweet little speech. And I, of course, said YES!
